Anapa lighthouse

The lighthouse is located on Cape Anapsky, where the walking area ends. The area around it offers a panoramic view of the Greater Caucasus Mountains and the Utrish Peninsula. The structure was built in 1955 to replace the signal tower of 1909, which was blown up by German troops during the Second World War. The lighthouse is 43 meters high and has a range of 18.5 miles. Central embankment

The main pedestrian alley of the resort, stretching from the seaport to the mouth of the Anapka River. The central part of the embankment was landscaped in 2002. As with all coastal cities, the promenade is the center of the holiday life. There are cafes, hotels, attractions, entertainment venues here. The walking area is decorated with flower beds, lanterns, landscape sculptures and paved with paving stones.

Musical fountains

The complex of five cascades is located near the building of the city administration. It consists of stone bowls located one after another. Archaeological park-museum in the open air, organized on the site of the excavation of the ancient colony of Gorgippia. This settlement was founded by the Greeks in the 4th century BC. The total area of ​​the ruins is about 2 hectares. Among them you can see the foundations of residential buildings, cellars of wineries, fragments of a defensive wall and sections of cobbled streets. Also, objects found during excavations are exhibited here: parts of temple columns, pieces of mosaics, sarcophagi, tombstones.

Museum of local lore

The collection of the museum is dedicated to the history of Anapa. Here you can see artifacts from the times of the Bosporus kingdom, exhibits from the period of the Russian-Turkish wars, materials dedicated to the origin and development of tourism in the city, as well as natural collections introducing visitors to the fauna and flora of the Black Sea coast. The section on the wine culture in the region is very popular.

Russian gate

An architectural monument of the 18th century - the remains of a Turkish fortress, erected under the rule of the Ottoman Empire for defensive purposes. Once it was a powerful stronghold of eight bastions and walls, stretching over 3 km in length. After the capture of the city in 1828 by the troops of the Russian Empire, the surviving gates were christened "Russian" in honor of the difficult victory.

Temple of Saint Onuphrius the Great

An Orthodox church built in the 1830s at the behest of Nicholas I. It began to be erected almost immediately after the liberation of the city from Turkish rule. The first building was destroyed in 1855 during the Crimean War, the next was built closer to the end of the 19th century, when the city finally fell under the protectorate of the Russian Empire. In 1991, after decades of desolation, the temple was consecrated in honor of Onuphrius the Great.

Temple of Seraphim of Sarov

The temple was built in 2004-2015. The Pskov-Novgorod style of religious construction, widespread in the XII-XIV centuries, was chosen as the main architectural style. It is characterized by the absence of external decor and ease of decoration.The church has a Sunday school for adults and children, an Orthodox library, a parish mercy service, and a family support center.

Ship-monument "Scarlet Sails"

The sculpture adorns the Central Embankment of Anapa. It is a figure of a ship from A. Green's story "Scarlet Sails". Bald mountain

Bald Mountain is located about 9 km from the center of Anapa. It is a steep hill of several hundred meters, practically devoid of vegetation (hence the name). The hill is a convenient viewing platform for viewing the endless expanses of the Black Sea and its shores. The slopes of the cliff are made of light limestone and are covered with multi-colored undersized bushes closer to the water.

Sukko Valley

A valley running along the course of the river of the same name, which originates in Abrau-Dyurso. It lies among low wooded hills, covered mainly with beech and oak groves (there are also pines and junipers). On the seashore, against which the valley abuts, there is the resort village of Sukko. It is sandwiched between Lysaya and Soldierskaya mountains. In this resort area, the emphasis is on children's recreation.

Cypress Lake in Sukko

The lake is located on the outskirts of the village of Sukko. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that swamp cypresses grow here directly from the water. This species is not found anywhere else on the territory of Russia, the homeland of its origin is North America. Perhaps they were brought to the Black Sea coast in the 1930s as an experiment, and they took root on the local soil. In any case, the spectacle is rather unusual and atypical for the Russian open spaces.

Reserve "Bolshoy Utrish"

Protected natural area covering an area of ​​more than 5 hectares. It covers wild beaches, picturesque lagoons, groves of juniper and pistachio trees, coastal cliffs. Sevruga and sturgeon are found in local water bodies. "Big Utrish" is famous for the fact that several rare species of Mediterranean butterflies and a huge number of waterfowl live here.

Bugaz spit

A narrow strip 12 km long and up to 300 meters wide, located between the Black Sea and the Bugaz Estuary. This is a unique place in terms of relaxation away from the crowds of tourists and the hustle and bustle of the city. Its beaches are completely covered with sand and small shell rock, it is warm enough here and there is a gentle entrance to the sea. Kosa is recognized as an ideal kitesurfing destination due to its favorable natural conditions. Mostly tourists stay at campsites.

Valley of the lotuses

In the village of Strelka, not far from the town of Temryuk, there is a unique place - the valley of lotuses. This flower is familiar to the landscapes of Asia, but not to the Russian landscape. And, nevertheless, here it grows as a solid living carpet. The history of the place began in 1938, when this species began to be specially cultivated in the Kuban.
