If you are planning to visit a heavenly place called Krabi, then our tips will certainly come in handy. We will tell you how to get to Krabi easier and faster from different parts of Thailand - Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Pattaya, Phi Phi and Lanta.

Bangkok to Krabi

The distance between two exotic points in a straight line is 650 km, and if you go by car, then get ready to cover almost 800 km. Fortunately, the wide choice of transport allows you to look at the problem philosophically. Let's take a look at the main ways of getting around, their advantages and disadvantages.

How to plan your trip to Thailand yourself - read in our travel guide.

Plane

Let's start with the plane. This option is suitable for those who do not want to spend several hours on the exhausting journey along the highway and can afford to buy an aircraft ticket. You won't even have time to take a nap in the sky, because the impressive distance will be covered in less than an hour and a half!

The only drawback is the high price, which can unpleasantly surprise even experienced tourists. But what to do, comfort requires sacrifice! If you are lucky, you can buy a ticket for a budget flight (up to $ 45), if not, you will have to "fork out" $ 72-128!

Bus

The second mode of transport is regular buses. You can get from Bangkok to Krabi for as little as $ 20, so this option is popular. But you need to understand that the road will take at least 12 hours.

Tourists prefer to take tickets for the night buses (slip bus), which leave in this direction at 6-8 pm. Since the bus arrives early in the morning, tourists also save on accommodation and can slowly look around and find the best offer for accommodation. Therefore, if you calmly endure long journeys - the bus tour is just for you!

A train

Train is no less popular transport. The main disadvantage should be considered the need to change to a bus or car, since there is no railway in Krabi itself. You can buy a ticket at the ticket office of the station, having previously selected the option of the carriage you like. The road will take up to 17 hours, but the fare will be three times cheaper than by bus.

Taxi

But a taxi should be hired only by very wealthy tourists. After all, the driver will ask for at least $ 250-300 for delivery to the resort coast!

Phuket to Krabi

After enjoying the beauty of the resort town of Phuket, many tourists decide to go to the equally picturesque Krabi. The distance between the resorts is only 150 km, which means that travel expenses will be more modest. You can get to the beach both by water and by land.

Bus

The easiest will be a trip by bus, which runs at intervals of one hour. You will have to spend only 3-3.5 hours on the road, and the fare per tourist will not exceed five dollars. If you want more comfort, one of the minibus drivers will gladly take you on board. Travel will not cost more than a bus, but be prepared that private traders often deviate from the route and thereby increase the travel time.

What to bring from Thailand - the best options.

Taxi

If you are ready to donate $ 95, a comfortable taxi will drive you to the local musical rhythms in Krabi. The road will take no more than 3 hours, during which you can enjoy the amazing landscapes of Thailand.

Ferry

An alternative way of travel is the ferry, which covers a short distance in 8 hours. But do not worry, because the ship enters the harbor of the amazing island of Phi Phi, to get acquainted with which you will be given up to five hours. The fare will be $ 25. The ferry leaves at 8.30 and already at 17 o'clock this day you will rush to one of the hotels in Krabi.

From Koh Samui to Krabi

It is unlikely that a true adventurer will be stopped by a distance of 270 km. This is the path to be overcome by those who decided to leave Samui and go to Krabi. There are several ways to go the way.

Plane

Although Koh Samui has its own airport, flights are not popular with visitors. This is again due to the high cost of air tickets, which often exceeds the $ 100 mark. And you won't be able to save time in case of a flight with a stopover in Bangkok.

Bus

So let's go straight to the bus option. Although the journey will take at least 6 hours, traveling across the land will be both more interesting and cheaper. And if you take the direct shuttle bus, you can save a few more dollars.

Transfer + ferry / speed boat

But the records of popularity are broken by the option of an organized transfer, which includes overcoming the route by land in a comfortable minibus, a water section by ferry or speedboat. The main advantage of such a trip is that the company decides everything for you. But the prices for such services "bite" and sometimes exceed the cost of air travel.

From Pattaya to Krabi

Tourists who come to Thailand often stay in Pattaya. If there is a need to get from this place to the resort of interest to us, we have to consider different options. Since there is no direct bus service between the two resorts, travelers have to develop their own travel routes.

Plane

The easiest way is to use an airplane. But besides the high price (8 thousand baht per person), you will have to spend from 10 to 15 hours at the Bangkok airport while waiting for the next flight. After all, there is no direct flight from Pattaya to Krabi.

Airplane + bus

A more convenient and budgetary option is to divide the entire route into two intervals. The first one - to Bangkok - cross the sky (up to 3,000 baht per passenger), and the second part of the route is covered by a regular bus.

It is possible to travel the entire route by buses, but even here it will not do without a change. Typically, you will have to pick up a second flight from either Bangkok or another major transport hub.

From Phi Phi to Krabi

Remember, we already mentioned this island with an exotic name, which is located right on the route from Phuket to the coveted resort? I think that there will be no problems with overcoming this part of the route.

It is clear that there is no bus or air service with the island, so the only way to get to Krabi is by sea. And for this, tourists have a lot of options at their disposal - from ferries to first-class speedboats. Depending on the speed of movement and the type of vehicle, you will have to spend up to 3 hours of time and up to 300 local currency units.

Lanta Krabi

To overcome this route, tourists are also offered several options. It is impractical to use a plane, because you have to make a big detour to Phuket (the island does not have its own airport), and from there spend time traveling by ferry or boat.

Therefore, we resort to the services of road carriers or ferrymen. Most visitors to Thailand use the ferry as it saves money and minimizes travel time.

But you can also go in a private minivan. The cost of such a trip will be approximately 400 baht per passenger. If you can afford to order a taxi, then get ready to pay about 2500 baht.
