Vietnam's weather in September is famous for its high temperatures. Depending on the region of the country, either a gradual transition from a wet to a dry period can be noted, or a full-fledged approach of a dry tourist season. In general, it can be noted that the local resorts are ready to welcome numerous travelers with wide arms and give them unforgettable days of beach holidays.

Northern territory of the country

The closer to the Vietnamese-Chinese border, the more the warm season is approaching. The regions of Vietnam bordering on the Chinese provinces are the first to plunge into favorable climatic conditions, which, without any doubt, are conducive to active beach holidays, visiting attractions and just getting to know the amazing Asian country.

The air in this area warms up to 30 degrees during the day, and rarely drops below 18 degrees at night. Even in the mountainous areas, there is no longer the freezing cold that not so long ago forced many guests to hastily pack their bags and go in search of more favorable conditions for rest. In September, there is a rapid transition to the dry season, which has been awaited for so long by everyone who wanted to explore northern Vietnam in more detail. The amount of precipitation is almost halved.

For example, in Hanoi, rainy days account for only 20-30% of the total time, and the maximum amount of precipitation that falls on the territory does not exceed 200 mm. The approach of a warm period is felt here, first of all, at night, when the air temperature no longer drops to low temperatures. It often happens that torrential rains completely immerse city streets in water streams, which will operate here for at least 2-3 days.

But in Halong Bay and on the streets of the city of the same name, located nearby, the dry season in September comes into its own in full measure. Although during the first two weeks of the month numerous rains continue to fall here and even typhoons "come in", already from the middle everyone will be able to feel all the delights of the local rest. Not a single tourist who arrived in Halong at the end of September will regret his choice.

Central areas

But the central regions of Vietnam at this time are immersed in streams of water, which form heavy torrential rains. The amount of precipitation in a month here easily exceeds 400 mm (although a couple of weeks ago this figure hardly exceeded 120 mm!). But the real peak of the season in these parts falls on the next two autumn months.

It is very difficult to relax in such conditions, and you should completely forget about spending time on the beach. Typhoons begin to dominate in the region, which unleash huge waves on the coast, and the air temperature gradually decreases. All this can turn your vacation into a very risky undertaking. So you should think carefully before buying a ticket to one of the resorts in the central part of Vietnam.

Southern regions

Despite the fact that in September the southern territories are still under the influence of humid cyclones, you can relax here quite well. Although it rains here almost every day, it is still short-lived. The first half of the day is generally characterized by high temperatures and contributes to spending a good time on the seashore. The average rainfall drops to 250 mm, and the amount of sunshine is only slightly less than in April.

The best will be the rest in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet. During this period, there is little rainfall, there is practically no wind, which makes it possible to have a great time on the beach. But Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City are still raining heavily in September, so those who do not want to spend a lot of time on the beach should choose these resorts.

This is what the weather looks like in Vietnam in September.

Recommended for viewing Hanoi per day.
