The breath of spring is already felt in the air, and the season of colorful carnivals and festivals begins in European countries. What you can see and what places are worth a visit - in our small review.

On February 4, in the Icelandic town of Reykjavik, the Winter Lights Festival was officially launched. From that day on, a real fairy tale comes to the city streets, the main decoration of which is thousands of multi-colored lights and bright illuminations. Anyone who will be in the capital of the country during the period from 4 to 7 February will be able to visit this enchanting performance. By the way, you can take part in the events absolutely free of charge.

The program for tourists who are lucky enough to be at the light festival will be very eventful. So, today an exhibition of light lights and installations will be open, which will take place in a concert hall called "Harpa". At 19.30 on the same day, artists of the brush Haldur Eldjarn and Turdyur Hans Baldursson will present their joint work "The Paint Splatter".

There will be entertainment for all lovers of swimming pools and all kinds of entertainment on the water. Thus, within the framework of the festival, an event called "Pool Night" will be held, during which a dozen of the largest swimming pools in the capital will become a platform for all kinds of entertainment events. Everyone will be able to appreciate the unforgettable atmosphere of the holiday, doing water yoga, watching the lighting effects and immersed in their thoughts while reading poetry or listening to live music.

From 4 to 10 February, the annual carnival will also take place on the streets of Cologne. For the first time, such festivities were organized in 1823, and since that time they have been very popular both among residents of Germany and among tourists. It is believed that in terms of scope this carnival may well compete for the championship with the most enchanting celebration that takes place in Rio de Janeiro.

The program includes: festivities, costume balls and performances with disguises, all kinds of balls and even staging of ancient rituals. All this takes place under an incendiary musical accompaniment, and in the finale, all guests of Cologne will see a procession of many thousands through the city streets.

There is good news for those who like the intoxicating drink. During the celebration, huge tables are set up on the streets, at which everyone can personally appreciate the taste of the legendary Kölsch beer. By the way, during the carnival period, the work of many institutions is almost completely stopped.

Finland is also ready to offer its entertainment program for tourists in February. A unique Museum of Broken Hearts was recently opened in Helsinki. As the slogan says, everyone who has suffered a difficult breakup will be able to relieve their souls by bringing here a piece of history and memory of past relationships.

While the museum will work in test mode and collect all the items that people bring here. But it will not be possible to see the exhibition in its final form until May (the opening is planned on May 13, and the entrance will be open until September 11). After that, all exhibits will be transferred for permanent storage to a similar exhibition hall, which is located in the Croatian Zagreb.

Well, for tourists who have the pleasure of relaxing in the Canary Islands, we recommend visiting the unusual exhibition, which is located at a depth of 12 meters off the coast of Lanzarote.

It is here that the local authorities decided to create an underwater museum, unique for Europe. Today, the underwater gallery contains over 300 statues and sculptures. Everyone will be able to see the unusual exhibition. Those tourists who have diving skills will be able to do it on their own, and for everyone else there is a special boat with a glass bottom.

The author of the sculptures is British J. Taylor, and the preliminary cost of the museum is estimated at 700 thousand euros.
