What to see and where to go in Abrau-Dyurso?

The most interesting and beautiful places for walking. Photos and a short description.

Lake Abrau

14 km from Novorossiysk is the largest freshwater lake in the Krasnodar Territory, which gave the name to the entire region and the famous champagne factory. The name "Abrau" in translation from the Turkic means "failure / collapse". The reservoir reaches 11 meters in depth, its shores stretch for 3 km among the picturesque wooded slopes of the surrounding mountains. The river of the same name and small mountain streams flow into the lake.

Singing Fountains

The singing fountain show in Abrau-Dyurso is a vivid sight, for the sake of which it is worth visiting this place on the way to the Black Sea resorts. The cascades are located right in the lake near the shore. Performances are held in the evenings with musical accompaniment - jets of water rise rhythmically upwards in the beams of bright laser illumination. You can watch the show from the shore or from the water by sailing closer in a rented boat.

Abrau-Durso park

Art Park Abrau-Dyurso is a small creative space in the open air, where modern sculptures and installations are located - interactive objects that need to be "launched" on their own. If you just look at the exhibits, you can hardly understand their purpose. In the park there are compositions "Arbor, fulfilling wishes", "Wind and music", "Sundial", "Nest", "With new happiness!"

Champagne Factory

Abrau-Dyurso is one of the most famous Russian producers of champagne and sparkling wines. The plant was founded in 1870 under Alexander II. After the appointment of Prince L. S. Golitsyn as manager, the enterprise experienced an unprecedented upsurge. At the beginning of the 20th century, experts invited from France worked in production. The plant continued to develop and increase production during the Soviet and post-Soviet times, constantly expanding the range.

Shop "Grotto"

In the "Grotto" you can buy any product of the "Abrau-Dyurso" plant, from inexpensive mass brands to collectible items. They sell not only wine and champagne, but also branded souvenirs. The store is a full-fledged excursion object included in tourist routes: here visitors are offered tasting and are told about the nuances of the production of alcoholic beverages.

Media Art Center "MARS"

The center was opened in 2016 on the territory of the plant. It is designed to showcase interactive images that have taken their rightful place in contemporary art. The first exhibitions were dedicated to light installations by Russian and foreign audiovisual art studios, created using the latest equipment. When viewing a "live" exposition, the visitor is fully involved in the process.

Cultural and Tourist Complex "Russia"

An entertainment complex for the whole family, where interesting show programs are held for spectators of all ages. The main sight for which tourists come here is bright equestrian performances, accompanied by extreme stunts, dances, performances with torches and incredible special effects. Also on the territory of the complex there is a petting zoo "Farm Frenzy", a shooting gallery and an attraction "House upside down".

"Bringing Down the House"

The attraction is an inverted building, where everything is located the other way around: furniture and household appliances hang from the ceiling, and a chandelier sticks out of the floor. Despite the fact that the house is a tourist attraction, some visitors seriously want to live in it for several days. The building has two floors and five rooms. The only properly placed object of the strange structure is the stairs, which can be used to get inside.

Church of St. Xenia of Petersburg

The church in Abrau-Dyurso has existed since the beginning of the 20th century. In 1926, the parish was closed, and the building was adapted for living quarters. In the 2000s, at the request of local residents, the construction of a new temple began. The work was fully completed only in 2012, although the services began in 2009. The church has a Sunday class for children and a parish library where printed and video materials are kept.

Lake Maliy Liman and Abrau Beach

Lake Malyi Liman (also called "Sweet Limanchik") is located a few kilometers from the village of Abrau-Dyurso on the Black Sea coast, it is separated from the latter by a narrow stone spit. On the shore of the reservoir is the Abrau Beach, which belongs to the tourist center "Abrau Durso". It is intended for guests staying in certain hotels, but anyone can go to it for a fee.
