The question of how to get to Phi Phi arises among tourists who have heard a lot about this exotic corner of the globe, but did not have time to visit it. Today we will give practical tips to help you find yourself on a paradise island. You will be able to find out which route will be the most economical, as well as with which vehicles you can reduce travel time.

By plane to Bangkok

Almost the only way to get to Thailand, starting from Russia, is by air. Numerous travel agencies offer lucrative and cheap travel packages, claim their benefits and promise an unforgettable holiday in the resorts of Thailand. But we have to make a journey on our own. Refusing the services of tour operators and other intermediaries, the cost of the trip will be reduced by 10-20 thousand rubles!

The first part of the journey - from Sheremetyevo to Bangkok airport (you can choose another destination) - will have to be overcome by plane. The website aviasales.ru, known to us, will help you to choose the best route. So, today such air carriers as Air Astana, Airlines, domestic Aeroflot, Qatar and others are ready to offer their services to travelers.

The fastest way you can fly to Bangkok on the aircraft of a domestic carrier. A direct flight will take only 8 hours and 50 minutes and you will not have to make stopovers at airports in other countries. But the cost of such a ticket will be at least 42 thousand rubles, which in itself casts doubt on the budgetary component of such a trip. A flight by Air Astana and Airlines, which are ready to take you to Bangkok airport for only 25-28 thousand rubles, will be much cheaper. But you have to be patient, because the road with one change will take at least 14.5 hours.

By plane to Krabi or Phuket

Once you find yourself in Thailand, you have to overcome another short section of the path, the final point of which will be an exotic island. Since there is no airport on Phi Phi, it will not be possible to use the services of numerous domestic carriers and low-cost airlines. But getting by air to Krabi or Phuket, which are located a few tens of kilometers from the island, is quite possible.

For example, by plane of Air Asia and Lion Air you can get from Bangkok airport to Krabi in just 70-80 minutes, and a ticket will cost no more than 1900-2300 rubles. And from there, you can easily get to the island resort by ferry or speedboat (who has what financial capabilities). The journey by sea will take about 1.5 hours. Ferries leave on schedule - only twice a day (at 9.30 and 13.30 local time). For a ticket you have to pay from 300 to 400 baht.

The second option would be a flight from Bangkok to Phuket, and then again by ferry. The cost of such a trip will "pour out" for tourists in the same amount, and to say that this way to get to the coveted island will not be more practical.

The only drawback of flying to Phuket and Krabi from Bangkok is the need to get from one airport in the city to another. In particular, domestic flights depart from Don Muang, which must be reached from the international airport at least 40 minutes.

By bus to Phi Phi

To save money, use the services of bus carriers. This route is not suitable for everyone, since the road will take much more time (depending on the traffic situation - from 15 to 17 hours). If you don't see anything wrong with that, start your journey by looking for a suitable regular bus. As a rule, such transport is located in a special parking lot near the airport, and you can find it using special signs. The fare to Krabi is only 600-800 baht. But you still have to get to the pier where ferries leave. Whatever one may say, but you still have to use the services of local taxis, especially if you are traveling with substantial luggage.

If you are traveling through Phuket by bus, also be prepared for the additional cost of getting to the marina. We note right away that in this city the situation with public transport looks even more complicated. If you do not want to spend money on a taxi, use the services of a minibus. Drive to the coast for about 45 minutes.

If you arrived in Bangkok at night, don't worry. Especially for such passengers, night buses depart daily from the airport building, which can take you to Phuket or Krabi in just 12 hours. As a rule, comfortable tourist buses run on the routes, in the comfortable seats of which you can get a good night's sleep and gain strength.

So we have considered all possible answers to the question: how to get to Phi Phi. As you can see, it is not so difficult to be in the company of the coveted exotic island!
